SELL Overview Presentation and Community Clean-up

In August, SELL Malawi continued its commitment to sustainable development and community engagement. On August 9th, the team presented an overview of their initiatives to over 300 young adults from various Anglican parishes in northern Malawi during their conference at Chibavi Anglican community. The presentation highlighted SELL Malawi’s dedication to community empowerment and environmental stewardship.

To reinforce this commitment, SELL Malawi organized and led a collaborative clean-up drive with Ungweru Organisation and Mzuzu University Students for Forestry and Environmental Management (SFEM) in solidarity with Mzuzu City Council. This initiative demonstrated the team’s dedication to environmental improvement and showcased their ability to work effectively with other organizations.

Community Building Workshops and Outreach

SELL Malawi also conducted several community-building workshops in August. On August 10th, 26 enthusiastic participants from Mzuzu University gathered at the Ungweru Organisation Hall for a workshop focused on Community Building. The workshop was a resounding success, with high energy, profound learning, and evident enjoyment among participants.

To further extend their reach, SELL Malawi engaged with the Umoza Football Academy for a clean-up exercise around Luwinga in Mzuzu city on August 22nd. The young boys of the academy were inspired by this initiative and expressed a desire to participate in similar activities on a monthly basis.

On August 23rd and 24th, SELL Malawi held a community-building workshop in Katoto, Mzuzu. The workshop fostered engaging interactions and valuable insights from participants, demonstrating the program’s positive impact on the community.

Came the 31st of august, a resource person from SELL Malawi travelled to Nkhata bay district for a step-down workshop on community building unit. This workshop served as a platform to mentor three SELL facilitators in the area, enhancing their skills and knowledge.

Overall, SELL Malawi’s August activities highlighted the team’s commitment to sustainable development, community engagement, and capacity building. Through their various initiatives, SELL Malawi continues to make a positive impact on the lives of young adults in Malawi.
