About The project
Ungweru Organisation recieved funding from Community Initiatives Facilitation and Assistance to implement a two year project on irrigation. Among others the project is aimed at improving peoductivity through irrigation. Farmmers are provided with irrigation equipment and starter pack farm inputs which enables them to produce more in one growing season.
The project is run in GVH Kamnkhoti Mkandawire area i Doroba covering the three villages of Palango Mhango, Telu Kamanga and Jailos Mhlanga
The challenge
Agriculture is the largest economic stay for most malawians. Hoever, the country is always having food challenges as what they harvest is not enough to take them to the nect growjing season.
The approach of the project s to help the communities harvest more that once through irrigation thereby inceasing productivity and makiing available some produce for sale
