ABOUT UNGWERU ORGANISATION
Since 2004, Ungweru Organization has been at the forefront of creating positive change in communities. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join us as a Field Officer under the direction of the Projects Officer.
Job Purpose
The Field Officer will be responsible for implementation and field level coordination/facilitation of projects, fundraising and community engagement programmes. The position will be familiar with a broad cross-section of activities, resources and techniques associated with the development and implementation of projects. He/she will serve as a hub for the projects in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Ungweru Organization’s community programmes

1. Key Responsibilities
Program Implementation
• Lead the planning, organization/facilitation and implementation of projects at project area level.
• Maintain programmatic accountability for program activities at project area including data collection for evaluation, record keeping of activities, and the completion of necessary quarterly progress and year-end reporting
• Facilitate efficient and timely implementation of planned activities by all relevant committees, district and community partners to ensure the right techniques, methodologies and standards are employed
• Take Lead in fund raising activities of the organization including development of funding proposals.
Partnership and Advocacy
• Network and collaborate with local level stakeholders in education, food and nutrition security to enhance program implementation and facilitates smooth transition for sustainability in the program
• Represent the organization on relevant local level committees, taskforces, fairs, etc., in order to promote coordination and collaboration with other stakeholders and relevant efforts whenever possible.
• Promote local level advocacy.
Capacity building
• Build capacity of the local communities/institutions in identified capacity gaps in relevant areas.
Program Monitoring
• Provide technical support to the community on implementation of development plans (AOP) through monitoring and review sessions consistent with budgetary allocation and within the set time line
• Ensure timely preparation of quality monthly, quarterly and annual reports

3. Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, and prior experience or on-job training:
• Education: Diploma in any relevant field with 5 years working experience.
• Experience: Minimum of one-year experience in related area.
• Requirement: Must be willing to stay in the rural areas
• Knowledge and technical skills
• Excellent facilitation skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Fluent in English
• Good understanding of cross-cultural issues.
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Good interpersonal and facilitation skills
