oday, on the 13th of December, 2024, Ungweru’s Lusekelo School ofComputing and Tailoring conferred certificates to 123 students who have completed their studies in the programs of Information and Computer Technology, and Tailoring and Fashion Design.

Speaking at the Ceremony, Ungweru’s Executive Director, Samuel Phiri commended the graduands for their dedication having completed their studies.

Mr phiri also commended the tutors for their work in teaching the graduands. He highlighted to the audience that the tutors are well qualified in their roles and that there isn’t a single issue in their various disciplines which they can’t resolve.

In wrapping up his speech, the director made an announcement in which he mentioned that Ungweru Organization, courtesy of Father Martin Riley, will award a tailoring machine to the best performing student in the Tailoring and Fashion Design course.

Also present at the Ceremony was Mr Joseph Chikopa, the Regional Center Manager of the Technical, Entrepreneurial, Vocational and Education Training Authority (TEVETA).

Mr Joseph Chikopa also extended a vote of thanks to the founder of Ungweru Organization, Bishop John Ryan. He commended Ungweru Organization for the wonderful work it is doing with regard to skills development in the communities.

According to Mr Chinoka, the Malawi government can’t reach out to all communities on its own. It depends on partners like Ungweru Organization to impart entrepreneurial skills in the communities.
