On the 21st of September, 2024, Ungweru Organisation had hosted MACRA in the organisation’s hall where the organisation was engaged on matters of Cyber Security and Data Rights

Speaking at the engagement, Brave Kayira, MACRA’s Consumer Affairs Officer, had explained how Malawians can be safe when using digital technologies. According to Kayira, being safe online is just as important as being safe in real life.

Kayira had shared tips on how a person can be safe online. This was in light of the notion that digitalization has come with negative effects, in particular mobile money fraud.

According to Brave Kayira, to be safe when using digital technologies, a person must do the following; (1) must not share or save passwords, must never download anything from unverified sources and must be critical of phone calls or messages which offer money.
