Ungweru Organisation, through its Youth Development Unit, has commissioned 24 young adults as volunteer facilitators under the Sharing Education and Learning for Life (SELL) program. The commissioning ceremony was held on August 31 at St. Joseph Parish in Nkhatabay.

The event was presided over by Reverend Father Isaac John Katumbi, the Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Mzuzu. Also in attendance was Fr. Leo Traynor, founder of the SELL program and resource person of Ungweru Organisation.

Before their commissioning, the facilitators successfully completed the foundational units of the program, which include Self-awareness, Leadership, Peacebuilding, Wisdom of Traditions, Community Building, and Justice.

Prior to their commissioning, these facilitators successfully completed the foundational units of the program which include:

  • Self-awareness: Helping young people understand themselves better.
  • Leadership: Building the ability to guide and inspire others.
  • Peacebuilding: Promoting conflict resolution and harmony.
  • Wisdom of Traditions: Preserving and appreciating cultural heritage.
  • Community Building: Strengthening unity and collaboration.
  • Justice: Advocating for fairness and equality.

With this achievement, the newly commissioned facilitators are ready to advance the program’s mission by empowering fellow young adults in their communities and sharing the knowledge and skills they have gained.
