With students now enrolled for ICT lessons at Ungweru’s Lusekero School of Computing, all is set for a journey that will equip young adults with essential digital skills. These skills are expected to play a key role in empowering the students as they navigate today’s increasingly digital economic and social landscape. From Microsoft Excel and Internet usage to basic computer theory, hopes are high that the programme will enhance the students’ digital confidence and competence.

Ungweru Organisation is proud to have registered 32 students, who have been divided into two cohorts for its ICT programme. The learners will cover eight modules, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access, as well as Internet skills, Computer Theory, and Entrepreneurship.

Stanford Ng’ona, one of the newly enrolled students, is hopeful that the programme will sharpen his ICT skills.

“At Ungweru, I expect to learn a lot when it comes to digital skills. Once I complete the programme, I’ll know how to operate a computer, create spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel, and make presentations using PowerPoint,” said Stanford.

“Digital skills are vital in today’s world. Every sector whether economic, educational, or social is becoming digital. We are confident that by the time our students complete their lessons at Ungweru Organisation, they will have mastered almost every basic aspect of using a computer,” said Petros.
