Ungweru Organisation on Thursday joined other civil society organisations at Mzuzu Stadium to commemorate NGO Day, an annual event that celebrates impact, innovation and the spirit of development.
This year’s commemoration was held under the theme “Harnessing Local Resources for Sustainable Development: Advancing the Impact of the NGO Sector Towards MW2063.”
Supported by Tilitonse Foundation, Comic Relief and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, Ungweru Organisation was part of a pavilion that attracted the attention of the Minister of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare, Hon. Jean Muonaouza Sendeza, MP, alongside other stakeholders.

Ungweru’s Executive Director presented the organisation’s key thematic areas, which include waste management, food security and human rights. The presentation was complemented by practical demonstrations of the organisation’s plastic shredding machine and solar-powered irrigation system, both of which underscored Ungweru’s commitment to sustainable development and innovation.
