It was all smiles among the youth in Nkhata Bay having gained and shared knowledge in a training facilitated by the Sharing Education and Learning for Life (SELL) team from Ungweru Organization from the 27th to the 30th of July.

The SELL team had conducted a training on peace building unit which took place at the pastoral center and this training had engaged the youth to share challenges they face and deliberate on the best possible solutions to tackle these challenges. Attendance of the youth was high and complementing to it was the immense preparation of the team. The team, to ensure success, had made prior communication of the training to the youth and had made available relevant textbooks to the trainees.

This training was not just a mere training. Indeed, the training’s impact and effectiveness was not only enhanced by its facilitation by professional SELL trainers but was also enhanced by the presence of the Diocesan youth chaplain, Fr. Benjamin Banda. Fr. Banda shared crucial insights reflecting on the challenges being faced by community leaders. His insights were very important as they brought forward the perspective of community leaders to the youth. All in all, the training was a success. Each participant had presented his/her work very well and had shared with the group meaningful contributions. With the knowledge gained from the training, the organization is confident that the trainees will bring about significant development in their respective communities.
